Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons: A Foundational Reading Program
A structured, explicit foundational reading program for beginning readers, with applications for intervention and high-impact tutoring.
Join us for a one-day remote training on Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons (TYC). Participants will learn how to deliver TYC lessons effectively, apply mastery criteria, use correction procedures, and implement appropriate remediation strategies.
TYC provides a carefully sequenced progression of foundational reading skills that takes beginning readers from early phonemic and decoding skills to increasingly complex reading tasks. When implemented with fidelity, TYC advances students from beginning reading skills toward reading proficiency at approximately a 1.5 grade-level equivalent.
TYC is an explicit, systematic approach to beginning reading instruction and has been used in homes and educational settings for decades. This book of 100 carefully sequenced reading lessons has been endorsed by Right to Read founder Robert Sweet and New York Times writer John McWhorter, and was the only instructional program Emily Hanford recommended to further reading on her Sold a Story podcast.
