SUMMARY:Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons Remote Training
DESCRIPTION:Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons: A Foundational Reading Program \nA structured\, explicit foundational reading program for beginning readers\, with applications for intervention and high-impact tutoring. \nJoin us for a one-day remote training on Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons (TYC). Participants will learn how to deliver TYC lessons effectively\, apply mastery criteria\, use correction procedures\, and implement appropriate remediation strategies. \nTYC provides a carefully sequenced progression of foundational reading skills that takes beginning readers from early phonemic and decoding skills to increasingly complex reading tasks. When implemented with fidelity\, TYC advances students from beginning reading skills toward reading proficiency at approximately a 1.5 grade-level equivalent. \nTYC is an explicit\, systematic approach to beginning reading instruction and has been used in homes and educational settings for decades. This book of 100 carefully sequenced reading lessons has been endorsed by Right to Read founder Robert Sweet and New York Times writer John McWhorter\, and was the only instructional program Emily Hanford recommended to further reading on her Sold a Story podcast.  \nWho Is This Training For? \nThis training is relevant for anyone responsible for teaching or supporting beginning readers\, including: \n\nClassroom teachers in preschool through Grade 2\nReading interventionists and special education teachers\nTutors and high-impact tutoring programs\nHomeschool parents and teachers\nParents\, caregivers\, and early childhood educators\nAfter-school\, summer-school\, and community-based reading tutoring programs\nEducational and literacy organizations serving beginning or struggling young readers \n\nWhat You Will Learn \nParticipants will: \n\n\n\nPractice delivering TYC lessons using the prescribed lesson routines\nLearn effective correction procedures\nUnderstand and apply mastery criteria\nLearn how to use the placement and mastery tests\nIdentify when students need additional practice or remediation\nPractice strategies for addressing common beginning reading difficulties\n\nMaterials: You do not need to purchase the book Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons before registering for or attending the training.
