Language and literacy in a developmental perspective
Dale, P.; Crain-Thoreson, C.
Abstract:
This study looked at the value of a developmental and transactional perspective within the context of teaching children to read. The authors examine results of studies of children with advanced language abilities and children with language impairment. Through these studies, the researchers illustrate the changing nature of learning to read and its connection to oral language development. This review provides implications for teaching children how to read.
