Dr. Sheri Wilkins has served in the field of education for over 30 years. She has dedicated her professional career to serving students with disabilities and building the capacity of educators to better serve this population. She coordinated inclusion services for students with disabilities as a resource specialist. She has also worked as a program specialist, conducting professional development in evidence-based practices and coaching teachers and staff in research-based strategies and practices.
In 2001, she became a program manager for Desert/Mountain Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) and an educational consultant for Innovative Educational Solutions, a consulting firm promoting best practices in teaching, learning, and leadership. She has provided numerous DI program trainings and classroom coaching in the implementation of Direct Instruction, including conducting trainings for dozens of schools. Sheri also currently works as a NIFDI Implementation Manager for several IDEA schools in San Antonio, Texas implementing DI as part of the Critical Student Intervention (CSI) program in grades 3-8.
Dr. Wilkins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Utah State University, a multiple subject credential from Chapman University, a Master of Arts in Special Education with an emphasis in mild/moderate disabilities, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with an emphasis in Special Education and Administrative Services.
