Abstract:
This study examined effects of the Direct Instruction mathematics program, Connecting Math Concepts, on math performance of first and fourth grade students. Students receiving traditional basal math instruction served as the comparison group. Results indicate that instruction with Connecting Math Concepts was most effective at the fourth grade level. Additionally, as a follow-up to CMC implementation, a survey was administered to teachers later in the year to assess their progress through the program.
